IFSC World Cup Chamonix to Gain International Broadcasting Coverage
The second IFSC Lead World Cup of the season takes place this weekend in Chamonix, France, alongside the penultimate Speed World Cup of the year. Sport Climbing fans need not miss out on the action as both disciplines are set to be broadcast across the globe, thanks to a number of broadcasting deals secured by the IFSC for the 2019 season.
Live television coverage of the Lead event is to be broadcast by J Sports, Equipe (who are also scheduled to provide delayed coverage of the Speed event on the evening of Saturday 13th July) and RTV Slo (live on SLO 2 and simulcast on 4d.rtvsloi.si, as well as delayed on 16th July at 17.00 CEST), in Japan, France and Slovenia respectively. The IFSC World Cup Chamonix is also to be broadcast live online by Eurosport Player in Europe (Lead event only), as well as internationally via the Olympic Channel and the IFSC YouTube channel (Lead and Speed), where the competitions will then be available to watch on demand following the event.
Delayed coverage continues on Saturday evening from 7.00pm in the USA, courtesy of NBC Olympic Channel, then in August with a two-hour highlight show on Japanese network NHK, featuring footage from the Villars and Chamonix World Cups. Korean channel SPO TV (Eclat) is also set to offer delayed broadcasting of the IFSC World Cup Chamonix, with Swiss channel SRF/SRG providing news coverage of the event.
