NARASAKI, PILZ HEADLINE THIRD GROUP OF ATHLETES CONFIRMED FOR BIRMINGHAM 2022

A third group of athletes has been recently confirmed to compete at The World Games Birmingham 2022 by their respective National Federations, in addition to the ones announced on 7 and 16 February.

The list of eight climbers also includes Olympians Jessica Pilz of Austria, and Narasaki Tomoa of Japan, respectively set to compete in the women’s Lead and men’s Lead events. Narasaki’s teammate Higuchi Masahiro – gold medallist at last year’s Lead World Cup in Kranj, Slovenia – has also been confirmed as one of the 12 athletes competing in the men’s Lead event.

France’s Mejdi Schalck will participate in the men’s Boulder event, while four climbers have been confirmed as participants in the Speed discipline: Maksim Ryzhov of Russia, and Yaroslav Tkach of Ukraine in the men’s Speed event; Beatrice Colli of Italy, and Andrea Rojas of Ecuador in the women’s one.

The 11th edition of The World Games is scheduled to take place in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, from 7 to 17 July. It will be the fifth consecutive edition featuring Sport Climbing events.
